Wk2: Positive Comments

For this week’s assignment, I left three positive comments on businesses that I personally enjoy or want to support. Writing these reminders made me realize how powerful positive feedback can be, not only for the company itself but also for new customers who may be checking reviews before making a decision.

The first comment I left was on In-N-Out Burger’s Instagram. Their most recent posts were being flooded with negative comments about ingredients and processed foods, with many people referencing The Food Babe. I wanted my voice to stand out as constructive but still loyal to the brand. (“Even though you guys should probably update your ingredients since we’re now breaking out of the matrix, I love In-N-Out all the time every time.”) With this, I acknowledged the criticism but still showed my support, because I truly enjoy In-N-Out and wanted to remind them they still have loyal fans.

The second comment I wrote was on a flower business’s Instagram page. Even though I haven’t purchased from them yet, I mentioned how creative and beautiful their arrangements always look when I see their posts. I added that my fiancé loves flowers and that I plan to surprise her with some from there soon. (“I haven’t bought flowers here yet, but every time I walk by, the arrangements catch my eye. They look unique and full of care. My fiancé loves flowers, so I’m planning to surprise her with some from here soon. Beautiful work!”) This kind of comment shows appreciation and helps the business know that their work is making an impression even before a purchase.

The Third comment I made was for Harney Sushi in Oceanside, which is one of my favorite restaurants to eat at. I’ve always had good experiences there, and I wanted to show that support. (“Harney Sushi is always a go-to spot for me when I’m in Oceanside. The rolls are creative, the vibe is fun, and I love eating here every time. Definitely one of my favorite sushi spots.”) I know they get mixed reviews sometimes, but I wanted to make sure I highlighted the positive side because my experiences have always been enjoyable.

Overall, leaving these three comments was a good reminder that positivity goes a long way on social media. Whether it’s a huge brand like In-N-Out, a local flower shop, or a sushi restaurant I love, sharing good feedback helps balance out the negativity and encourages the people behind the business to keep doing their best.
