Wk 3B - Defining My Target Market

When I think about my ideal target market, I first look at a bakery business. The target market for a bakery would be individuals seeking a new spot to try sweets for any occasion. These customers could include families, young adults, and anyone who enjoys having desserts, whether it’s after dinner, as a treat with friends, or just because they’re craving something sweet. They are likely to be active on social media, looking at photos of cakes and other baked goods, reading reviews, and keeping up with seasonal flavors. To connect with them, I would share mouth-watering photos, short videos of the baking process, and posts that highlight the occasional enjoyment of sweets. This type of content would build excitement and make the bakery feel like a go-to spot for dessert any time.

In addition to the bakery, I also see myself branching out into the fitness industry. If I were working as a social media consultant or running a side business, it would be focused on a fitness clothing and accessories brand. The target market for this brand would be young adults, ages 18–35, who are dedicated to fitness and active lifestyles. These customers value style, comfort, and performance in what they wear, both in the gym and in their daily lives. They also use social media heavily, often following fitness influencers and posting their own progress.

For this group, I would share content that is both motivational and practical. Examples include workout videos featuring the gear, product spotlights that show durability and comfort, and collaborations with fitness creators who inspire audiences. Interactive content like polls, challenges, and giveaways would help customers feel part of the brand. The fitness community thrives on motivation and identity, so my goal would be to create a brand that represents strength, progress, and lifestyle.
